CONGRATULATIONS

YOUR BOAT HAS BEEN EQUIPPED WITH LEE'S MX PRO SERIES OUTRIGGERS (THE FINEST RIGGERS AVAILABLE) AND PROFESSIONALLY INSTALLED BY RIGGERS PLUS - CAPT STEVE HARRILL, THE LEADING AUTHORITY ON LEE'S OUTRIGGER INSTALLATIONS.

Here are some BASIC guidelines on how to deploy and recover your riggers.

TO DEPLOY:
1.       Hold on to rigger while you release the stand-off arm by pulling out on the round knob on the latch collar, then lift up the arm to release the arm from the collar.

2.       Always use the provided ˝” deploy and recovery line to ease the rigger to the fishing position.

TO RECOVER:
1.      Pull up the rigger using the ˝” deploy and recovery line. The line MUST pass under the hinge to unlock it when you pull up on the line.

2.       Pull the outrigger all the way up and then hold onto the rigger while you slip the stand off arm into the latch collar, making certain that the latch is fully engaged and locked.

3.       Secure the ˝” deploy and recovery line so the rigger can not be released accidentally.

TO LAY BACK USING TELESCOPING BACK BAR, IF SO EQUIPPED:

DO NOT telescope back bar without first pulling quick pin and disconnecting hinge arm from rigger or DAMAGE to the lower fittings on hinge arm will occur. This could VOID WARRANTY. The arm could fail, allowing the outrigger to contact the water causing severe damage to the outrigger.

This is easily done by two people, practice at dockside is necessary to develop your own technique. The basic steps are:

1.       You must remove the quick pin and disconnect the hinge brace from the rigger. Secure the hinge brace however you can.  Each boat is different so find what will work for you and your boat. Some times you can tie up the brace with light line or velcro straps, just tuck it in between antenna brackets or canvas work. Use whatever method works best for you and your boat.

2.       Have your mate on the gunwales at the back bar. After you have disconnected the hinge brace hold on to the rigger and disconnect the stand off arm. Have your mate push the lever to release the spring lock pin on the back bar and then using the ˝” deploy and recovery line, gently lower the rigger aft until fully down. Have your mate use the lower stand off arm to lock the rigger into place again making certain that the latch is fully engaged and locked.

DO NOT RUN AT HIGH SPEEDS OR IN ROUGH WATER WITH THE RIGGERS DEPLOYED.

THE DROPPED BACK POSITION IS ONLY FOR TEMPORARY REDUCTION OF VERTICAL HEIGHT TO CLEAR RESTRICTED CLEARANCES AND TO COMPLY WITH BRIDGE RESTRICTIONS.

TO STAND RIGGER BACK UP:
1.       Reverse the deploy procedure, making sure the back bar spring lock pin snaps into place before you attach the upper stand off arm and reattach the hinge brace with the quick pin.

ALWAYS MAINTAIN CONTROL OF THE RIGGER, (USE THE ˝” DEPLOY and RECOVERY LINE) NEVER DROP OR SUDDENLY RELEASE THE RIGGER AS SEVERE DAMAGE COULD OCCUR TO RIGGER AND BOAT.

THE VAST MAJORTIY OF RIGGER REPAIR CALLS THAT WE GET ARE BECAUSE THE RIGGERS GET HOOKED ON A PILING OR ANOTHER BOAT WHILE IN THE TELESCOPED POSITION OR, TELESCOPING THE BACK BAR WITH OUT RELEASING THE HINGE BRACE FROM THE RIGGER.

PLEASE FILL IN THE REGISTRATION CARD AND RETURN TO RIGGERS PLUS

These introductory guidelines are not meant to be comprehensive instructions, only basic guidelines. The outrigger installation on each and every boat is unique and requires the operator to perfect the procedures to match the boat configuration and operator’s needs.

IF YOU HAVE ANY CONCERNS OR QUESTIONS ABOUT THE USE OF YOUR RIGGERS DO NOT ATTEMPT TO OPERATE THE RIGGERS. PLEASE CONTACT YOUR SALES PERSON and/or DEALER OR RIGGERS PLUS FOR MORE ASSISTANCE.
